LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Silvio Berlusconi, the former president of AC Milan and the former prime minister of Italy, passes away at the age of 86.
On 12 June, 2023, the flamboyant media tycoon passed away at the San Raffaele hospital in Milan.
In April, Berlusconi sought medical attention after developing a lung infection that was related to an unreported incidence of chronic leukaemia.
He had an aortic valve replacement in 2016 and was admitted to the hospital in September 2020 with Covid.
The two times married Berlusconi is survived by five kids.
Berlusconi’s political career began with real estate development, and he later founded Mediaset and served as the head of four governments.

He was elected prime minister for the first time in 1994, and he served as president of Italy for the longest period of time since the Second World War from 2001 to 2006.
In 2008, Berlusconi came back to power, but a financial crisis compelled him to step down in 2011.
He owned the Serie A powerhouse AC Milan from 1986 and 2017.
The club won five Champions League titles, the Coppa Italia, and eight league championships during that time.
