The Nigerian senate has confirmed the reappointment of Abike Dabiri-Erewa as chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) for a second term in office.
Dabiri-Erewaās confirmation was a sequel to the presentation, consideration and adoption of the report of the Committee on Diaspora and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) by the Chairman, Senator Nnachi Michael.
Michael said Dabiri-Erewa possesses the necessary technical and academic credentials to perform exceptionally and efficiently in the role.
The lawmaker said there was no petition against her noting that the nominee sponsored the bill for the establishment of the commission when she was a member of the house of representatives.
President Muhammadu Buhari wrote to the senate early this month seeking confirmation of Dabiri-Erewa.
