American singer, Trey Songz has reportedly turned himself in to the cops in New York, over an assault incident that happened months ago.
The media outlet, quoting law enforcement sources, said the 38-year-old was accused of hitting two people in the face at a bowling alley in October.
According to TMZ, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) found out about the incident at the end of November.
One of the victims was reportedly hospitalized afterward.
TMZ reported that Trey turned himself in at an NYPD station a few weeks later. He was booked and given a desk appearance ticket for assault, before being released.
It was previously reported that the singer punched a woman in the face while inside a bowling alley bathroom. The second alleged victim is a guy who claims Trey punched him in the eye.
Commenting on the incident, Trey’s lawyer Mitch Schuster said: “We have been proactively communicating with NY law enforcement, the DA, and all those involved. While we will respectfully and proactively work through all the appropriate channels we are confident that Trey will be fully cleared of any wrong doing.”
In January 2021, the rapper was also arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
Songz was apprehended for trespassing and resisting arrest in an altercation with an officer during an American football game between Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
A video obtained from Arrowhead Stadium, where the scuffle happened, showed Songz and the officer in a struggle.
The singer threw a punch at the officer’s head and gets him in a headlock while the latter pinned Songz to a seat.
A witness who was at the stadium during the game was quoted as saying that the officer was out of line.
