IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, took his campaign rally to Jalingo, the capital city of Taraba state on Wednesday, 7 December, 2022.
The rally was held at the Nyame Stadium in Jalingo, Taraba State, after the arrival of Peter Obi.
In a video posted on social media, the former Governor of Anambra State was seen in a moving convoy with the party chairman, Barrister Julius Abure, and human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu.
Peter Obi could be seen as he came down and waved to his supporters in the state before returning to his convoy and moved to his campaign venue.
His supporters, who showed up in massive numbers, followed him all the way from where he landed to the palace of the AKU UKA of Wukari, in Taraba state, before heading to the campaign ground.
This was confirmed by a tweep, @victorisrael_ who wrote: “Taraba people followed Peter Obi all the way from where he landed to the palace of the AKU UKA of Wukari, in Taraba state. Yes! This is in the north! 🔥🔥🔥”
Another tweep, @multimeverse shared another video of mammoth crowd inside the stadium as the presidential candidate walked in with his party members.
“GUYS!! Was this not the stadium you said won’t be filled? 😁
If only most of you know how the gospel of obi has spread in the north, you wont doubt his winning there! We also thank the opposition for spreading fake news there 😁”
@officialchrisay also shared another video of Obi climbing the stairs to the podium alongside a caption: “Forget it, there are levels to these things. Peter Obi is a rare specimen. Can your presidential candidate climb the staircase like this. My President is superfit.”
