IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has expressed shock over the death of the party’s Kaduna women leader, Mrs Victoria Chintex, who was killed by some unknown gunmen on Tuesday.
Voiceofnaija.ng had reported that hoodlums attacked Mrs Chintex’s residence and killed her in the presence of her family.
The gunmen also shot Chintex’s husband in the leg while he was instantly rushed to an undisclosed medical facility for treatment.
LP in the southern Kaduna senatorial zone, in a statement by its publicity secretary, Edward Buju, also condemned in strong terms the brutal and cowardly assassination of the Women Leader.
However, Obi took to his verified social media handles on Tuesday evening to mourn the death of the woman leader and to condole with her family, saying: “I am shocked by the mindless killing of Mrs Victoria Chintex, the Labour Party’s women leader in Kaura, Kaduna State, by yet to be identified gunmen.
“May the soul of the late Mrs. Victoria Chintex rest in perfect peace. My sincere condolence to her family.”
“Her death is a huge loss to her immediate and extended family, and to our Labour Party. She lives on in our hearts.
