LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian activist VeryDarkMan has threatened to bypass local phone dealers by helping consumers buy the newly released iPhone 18 directly from China if sellers inflate its price in Nigeria.

Speaking in a video recorded in China, the activist said he had visited an Apple Store and confirmed the arrival of the latest iPhone.

Apple officially unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on September 9, with the devices scheduled to become available from September 18.

VeryDarkMan claimed that some Nigerian dealers could take advantage of the new release to push up the price of the device.

“I just reach Apple Store for China. iPhone 18 just come out,” he said, before turning his attention to Nigerian phone sellers.

He also warned that such an increase could have a knock-on effect on the older iPhone 17.

“You know the problem with you inflating the price is that the 17 now go come dey more expensive,” VeryDarkMan stated.

According to him, he had already placed an order for his own device in China and expected it to arrive on September 18.

VeryDarkMan argued that dealers should not use the new release as an excuse to impose excessive prices on customers.

The activist also anticipated backlash from business owners who might accuse him of interfering with their trade.

He, however, maintained that he was prepared to take action if he believed customers were being exploited.

“Una know me. Business people, una go talk say I wan spoil business for una. Una go hate me. But I go spoil am,” he added.

Rather than simply criticising the dealers, VeryDarkMan said he was prepared to offer consumers an alternative by helping them source the device directly from China.

“If I hear the price go up, I go help people dey buy dey bring am come Nigeria,” the activist declared.

His comments come as the new iPhone generation begins its rollout across international markets, with China among the countries where Apple has announced September 18 availability.
