LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has challenged critics questioning her health after a dance video sparked claims that she may be suffering from arthritis, insisting that her energy and active lifestyle tell a different story.

The actress dismissed the speculation, questioning why her active movements would be linked to a health condition when she remains energetic and physically active.

Taking to Instagram, Edochie challenged those making the claims to compare her energy with that of their mothers.

“Can their mothers ever be as strong, active, energetic, and flexible as I am?” she asked. The actress then answered her own question, adding, “Impossible!”

Edochie explained that her recent activities have involved travelling, moving around and standing for long hours while promoting her movie.

She suggested that the attention surrounding her may have fuelled the comments, accusing her critics of being jealous because she is currently trending and her name is attracting public interest.

“Your empty head could only find arthritis to talk about,” the actress wrote.

Edochie also condemned the growing culture of social media bullying. She warned that constant online attacks can affect people’s mental health and potentially push some into depression.

Despite the criticism, the actress said she would not be pressured into abandoning social media.

She maintained that she would continue to share updates and interact with her followers despite what her critics say.
