LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo has warned the public about an online vendor he accused of collecting money from him for an iPhone 17 for his wife, only to allegedly disappear for four months.
Dakolo made the allegation in a post on his social media page, where he appealed to his followers to share the message to prevent others from falling victim.
According to the singer, he paid the Canada-based man for the phone four months ago but is yet to receive it.
Dakolo claimed that he kept getting excuses and different explanations about the delayed delivery, including claims that the phone was already on its way.

He recalled some of the excuses, saying, “The phone is on its way; the delivery will call you soon.”
The singer added that the vendor later claimed he had sent the phone to London, where his wife lived.
However, Dakolo said he became more suspicious after noticing that the vendor was already posting the new phone online despite allegedly failing to deliver the device he had been paid for.

In his warning to the public, the singer urged people to be cautious about the vendor and the products he advertises.
“Please help me and repost,” Dakolo wrote, explaining that sharing the warning could potentially prevent another person from losing money.
He described the vendor as “very dishonest” and said his location in Canada had made it difficult to reach him directly.
Dakolo further advised social media users to exercise caution before doing business with the supposed vendor, particularly because of the products he advertises online.
The singer’s warning has since turned the spotlight on the risks of online transactions, where buyers can sometimes struggle to recover their money when promised goods fail to arrive.
