LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Big Brother Naija (BBN) has never been just about nominations, evictions, romance and the race for the grand prize.
Over the years, several housemates have discovered that breaking Biggie’s rules can bring their BBNaija journey to an abrupt end.
Since the reality show returned to Nigerian screens in 2017, eight housemates have been disqualified before the latest exit of Season 11 housemate Nomy.
Their offences have ranged from physical confrontations and aggressive behaviour to repeated disobedience and breaking the show’s confidentiality rules.
Here is a look at the housemates who have been disqualified over the years.

1. Kemen – Season 2, 2017
Kemen became the first major BBNaija housemate to be disqualified after the show, themed “See Gobe” returned in 2017.
His exit came after an incident involving fellow housemate TBoss, who was asleep at the time.

Kemen was accused of inappropriate touching, leading Big Brother to remove him from the competition.
The incident became an early reminder that in the BBNaija house consent is golden.
2. Khloe and K-Brule – Season 3, 2018
The next major disqualification came in Season 3, when Khloe and K-Brule were shown the door.
The pair had accumulated three strikes following a series of incidents involving abusive exchanges, aggressive behaviour and confrontations with fellow housemates.

Their disqualification came during the “Double Wahala” season, which was already living up to its name with plenty of drama inside the house.
Unlike a normal eviction decided by viewers, the duo’s exit was a disciplinary decision meted out by Biggie himself.
3. Tacha – Season 4, 2019
Tacha’s disqualification remains one of the most memorable disciplinary exits in BBNaija history.
The Season 4 housemate was removed from the “Pepper Dem” house after her heated clash with Mercy Eke turned physical.
The confrontation involved pushing and hair-pulling, leaving Big Brother with no choice but to end Tacha’s run in the competition.

Her disqualification came just days before the finale and sparked a massive reaction among fans, with supporters of both Tacha and Mercy taking sides.

Despite his controversial exit, Tacha went on to build a successful career outside the house.
She also earned two Guinness World Records for the most cosmetic makeovers completed in eight hours and 24 hours, after transforming 82 and 144 individuals respectively.
These achievements further cemented her status as one of the most recognizable personalities to emerge from the reality show.
4. Erica – Season 5, 2020
Erica Nlewedim’s time in the “Lockdown” house also ended through disqualification.
The actress and model had already received strikes for breaking several house rules before her final night in the competition.

Her offences included abusive language, disregarding the Head of House rules and a series of confrontations with fellow housemates, including Laycon.
Big Brother eventually issued her the strike that ended her BBNaija journey.
Erica’s exit was particularly emotional because she was one of the season’s biggest personalities and the love interest of billionaire heir, Kidwaya.
5. Beauty Tukura – Season 7, 2022
Beauty Tukura did not last long in the “Level Up” house before her temper landed her in trouble.
The former beauty queen was disqualified on August 7, 2022, barely two weeks into the competition.
Her exit followed an argument with Groovy, her love interest in the house.

During the confrontation, Beauty threw her wig and glasses at him after the disagreement escalated.
Biggir had already issued her a strike for previous misconduct with the last confrontation earning her a quick exit from the show.
6. IU Prisa – Season 9, 2024
IU Prisa’s case was different from the others because she did not even get the chance to settle into the BBNaija “No Loose Guard” house.
The Season 9 housemate was disqualified before entering the competition after reportedly revealing publicly that she had been selected for the show.

Her case highlighted another important part of the BBNaija rulebook, confidentiality.
While other contestants lost their places after incidents inside the house, IU Prisa’s spectacular disqualification happened before she could even see the inside of the Big Brother Naija house.
She “loose guard” and lost her chance to play for the season’s N100 million grand prize.
7. Faith – Season 10, 2025
Faith became another housemate to suffer a disciplinary exit in the “10/10” house.
During Season 10, the doctor and augmented reality creator was disqualified following a physical altercation with Sultana during a task rehearsal.

The confrontation resulted in an injury to Sultana and brought Faith’s time on the show to an immediate end.
His disqualification came just days before the season finale, making it one of the most dramatic late-season exits in recent BBNaija history.
Africa Magic’s Season 10 coverage also recorded the disqualification as one of the major developments of the final week.
8. Nomy – Season 11, 2026
The latest name on the list is Season 11 housemate Nomy, whose real name is Whitney Chukwu.
Nomy was disqualified from the “Show Ya Sef” house on Monday, September 7, after repeatedly defying Big Brother’s instructions.
Her final offence was linked to the “Bench Warmer” punishment. After finishing last in a Head of House challenge, Nomy was instructed to wear a designated vest and remain on an assigned bench.
However, she left the bench and vest behind.

Big Brother confronted her over the decision, reminding her that she had previously been warned about her conduct.
Nomy had received a strike the previous week, which Biggie described as her “last and final warning.”

After another breach, Big Brother revoked her privilege to remain in the competition and gave her 30 minutes to pack her belongings and leave the house.
Her disqualification makes her the first housemate to be removed on disciplinary grounds from the ongoing Season 11 competition.
From Kemen’s controversial exit in 2017 to Nomy’s disqualification nine years later, BBNaija has shown that popularity alone cannot protect a housemate from Biggie’s rulebook.
Some exits were triggered by physical altercations, others by repeated strikes, while IU Prisa’s case showed that even conduct outside the house can affect a contestant’s eligibility.
Although surviving nominations is imperative, sometimes, the biggest battle is simply staying on Biggie’s good side.
