LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Seychelles government is considering legal action against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after the cancellation of PTL Bazar Brothers’ Confederation Cup fixture despite Ebola concerns.
PTL Bazar Brothers were scheduled to face DR Congo’s DC Virunga in the first leg of their Confederation Cup tie; however, they didn’t make the trip.
The country’s authorities said health concerns linked to a reported Ebola outbreak prevented the club from travelling to DR Congo.
They claimed CAF was informed about the situation two weeks before the scheduled encounter.
The authorities requested that the fixture be relocated to a neutral venue to protect players and officials.
Tanzania was reportedly suggested as an alternative venue by Seychelles authorities.
However, officials alleged that CAF ignored their concerns and proposed arrangements for the match.
CAF reportedly maintained that PTL Bazar Brothers should travel to DR Congo and fulfil the fixture.
The Seychelles club subsequently remained at home and did not travel for the encounter against DC Virunga.

As a result, the first-leg fixture failed to take place as scheduled.
The Seychelles government has now indicated that it could challenge CAF through legal channels.
Officials insist the decision was based on legitimate health and safety concerns.
The dispute could trigger a legal battle over CAF’s handling of the fixture.
PTL Bazar Brothers will await further developments as Seychelles authorities consider their next steps against CAF directly.
