LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs could walk out of federal prison earlier than expected after US prison authorities moved his projected release date forward.

The Bad Boy record boss’s projected release date has been revised repeatedly since his imprisonment.

The latest date, February 5, 2028, is listed by the US Federal Bureau of Prisons for the 56-year-old music mogul, who is serving his sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey.

The adjustment moves his expected release more than two weeks earlier than the previous date of February 20, 2028.

Combs began serving his 50-month federal sentence in October 2025, and his release date was initially set for June 2028 before being moved to April, February and January.

It was then revised to February 20, 2028, before the latest adjustment. The reason for the repeated changes has not been disclosed.

The Bureau of Prisons previously told the Daily Mail that it does not discuss individual inmates confinement conditions, release plans or reasons for changes to projected release dates because of privacy, safety and security concerns.

The mogul is serving his sentence after a federal jury found him guilty in 2025 on two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution.

However, he was cleared of the more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.

A judge later sentenced him to four years and two months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

Motanly, the latest release-date change comes weeks after reports claimed Combs was involved in an altercation with another inmate at Fort Dix.

According to reports, the incident began when Combs and the inmate pushed each other before punches were exchanged.

Guards reportedly stepped in, after which Combs was placed in solitary confinement.

Prison officials have not confirmed the details of the alleged confrontation and Combs’ representatives have also denied previous reports that he breached prison rules.

They stated that the Bad Boy Entertainment founder remained focused on sobriety, self-discipline and personal growth during his time behind bars.

For now, February 5, 2028, remains the Bureau of Prisons projected release date, although it could still be revised as Combs undergoes rehabilitation in prison.
