LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Leading Nollywood actors have joined the call for urgent medical help for veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, following the family’s disclosure that he is battling stage four cancer.
The actors are not asking Nigerians to raise money for the veteran star. Instead, they are using their platforms to help the family find qualified cancer specialists, reputable hospitals and reliable treatment options that could offer Ogogo the medical attention he needs.
The appeal was led by Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) president Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin, alongside Odunlade Adekola, Muyiwa Ademola, Toyin Abraham, Bimbo Oshin and Femi Adebayo.
Mr Latin shared a video from Ogogo’s daughter while appealing to medical professionals who could help the family make informed decisions about his treatment.
“We appeal to everyone to support Uncle Taiwo Hassan Ogogo, who has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. We urgently need qualified medical professionals and cancer specialists to advise us on the best treatment options. We cannot afford to gamble at this stage,” he wrote.
Similarly, Muyiwa Ademola made an emotional appeal, stressing that the family’s challenge is not a lack of financial resources but finding the right medical direction for Ogogo’s condition.
Odunlade Adekola also expressed his concern while asking anyone with access to suitable treatment to come forward.
“Jesus Christ! Please we are begging you if you know who can treat him. Hospital is saying that they can’t give him chemo,” Adekola wrote.
Notably, Femi Adebayo also joined the campaign, urging his followers to help connect Ogogo’s family with credible medical professionals.
Adebayo reiterated that the family is not seeking financial assistance. Their immediate need, he said, is expert medical guidance, including recommendations for reputable hospitals, oncology specialists and advanced cancer treatment centres.
“Please let’s rally around our beloved Sir Taiwo Hassan, who is currently facing a serious health challenge battling cancer,” Adebayo wrote.

He further explained that the family wants medical professionals who can review Ogogo’s medical records and recommend possible treatment options.
Adebayo also appealed to people with connections in the oncology field to reach out to the family, urging Nigerians to share the message until it reaches the right medical professionals.
“If you know someone who knows someone in the oncology space, or a medical avenue that can assist please help reach out to his family immediately. Let’s share this until it reaches the right hands!” he added.
The united appeal from Ogogo’s colleagues has placed a brighter spotlight on the veteran actor’s health battle, with the entertainment community now hoping that the right specialists can be found to guide his treatment.
