LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Nigeria Women’s Football League champions Edo Queens have been handed a challenging draw in Group B of the WAFU B CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers, scheduled to take place in Burkina Faso from August 23 to September 5, 2026.
The Benin City-based side will face Côte d’Ivoire’s ASEC Mimosas, Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa, and AS Garde Nationale of Niger Republic in what promises to be a fiercely contested four-team group.
Group A features hosts USFA of Burkina Faso, Dynamique FC of Benin Republic, and ASKO of Togo, setting up an equally competitive pool.
The group-stage fixtures will be played across three matchdays, beginning August 23 and 24, continuing on August 26 and 27, and concluding with the final round of matches on August 29 and 30.

Edo Queens, coached by Moses Aduku, will be making their second appearance in the regional qualifying competition.
They enjoyed a successful debut in 2024, winning the WAFU B tournament to qualify for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Their maiden continental campaign saw them finish fourth, a remarkable achievement that underlined their potential as one of Africa’s rising women’s football clubs.
The Nigerian champions will now aim to build on that foundation, testing their strength against some of the region’s leading sides and seeking another ticket to the CAF Women’s Champions League.
The qualifiers present Edo Queens with an opportunity to showcase their growth, reaffirm their dominance in West Africa, and continue Nigeria’s proud tradition in women’s football.
