LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actress Jemima Osunde confronted a motorist over an alleged one-way violation in Lagos, refusing to give way while insisting that traffic congestion should not be used as an excuse to break road rules.
The incident reportedly occurred near the Oriental Hotel on the road to Lekki, where Osunde said a driver abandoned the designated lane to avoid traffic and drove against the flow of traffic.
In a now viral video, the actress could be seen blocking the vehicle and refusing to move out of her lane until officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) arrived.
Osunde said she was determined not to encourage the alleged violation, even if it meant spending more time in the already congested traffic.
“I will not leave my lane for you when you are passing one way. I won’t do it. I don’t care if you have police in your car,” she said.
She also criticized motorists who ignore traffic regulations whenever roads become congested, arguing that such behaviour makes Lagos traffic problems worse.

“I’m sick of Nigerians just doing anyhow, as if Lagos is not congested enough, without you passing one way and breaking traffic lights,” the actress said.
However, Osunde stated that she would give way when dealing with genuine emergencies, particularly emergency response vehicles.
“Unless you’re an ambulance or a fire truck and emergency service, I will not leave my lane for you when you’re passing one way. I won’t,” she added.
The actress’s action has since attracted support from social media users.
