ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Enugu State Chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Wing says it is strategising through grassroots mobilisation to secure victory for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party stated this at the Enugu NDC Youth Inauguration and Leadership Summit held on Monday in Enugu.
The summit was convened to properly organise and equip members of the Youth Wing with the requisite knowledge of political engineering, grassroots mobilisation and voter education ahead of the elections.
Speaking at the event, the National Secretary of the NDC Youth Wing, Comrade Gideon Longlife, emphasised the critical role of youths in shaping good leadership in society.
Longlife said that without strategic mobilisation and the active participation of youths, the future of society and the party would be at stake.
Representing Enugu State Chairman of the NDC, Mr Ibuchukwu Obetta, the Leader of NDC Chairmen in Enugu State, Mr Hilary Ogbonna, commended the Youth Wing for its energy and commitment.
Obetta noted that grassroots mobilisation remained the backbone of electoral victory, adding that youths, by virtue of their strength and reach in both urban and rural communities, were best positioned to deliver the party’s mandate.

In his keynote address, the Enugu State NDC Youth Wing Coordinator, Mr Ude Jideofor, expressed appreciation to the State Party Executives, NDC candidates and all Youth Wing members who contributed to the success of the inauguration.
Jideofor described the summit as a strategic platform to mobilise and equip youths with the tools needed for effective political engagement.
“We, the youths, are ready to play a major role in NDC, especially in our state.
“This summit will ensure that our members have the right knowledge of political engineering to deliver NDC in 2027,” he said.
Jideofor further reaffirmed the unwavering support of the Enugu State NDC Youth Wing for all NDC candidates in the state.
He pledged that the Youth Wing would work tirelessly with its members across the state to ensure victory for the party in the 2027 elections.
The event brought together key dignitaries from the NDC Youth Wing National Leadership, the Enugu State Party Executive and stakeholders from across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
