ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the August 15 governorship election, describing the outcome as a reflection of the confidence reposed in him by the people.
Tinubu, in a statement personally signed and made available on Sunday, said he had earlier called Adeleke to congratulate him on his re-election.
According to the President, Adeleke’s victory demonstrated that Osun voters had renewed their confidence in his leadership.
“I called Governor Ademola Adeleke earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him,” Tinubu said.
The President wished Adeleke success in his second term, urging him to bring together residents of the state regardless of their political affiliations.

He said the governor should use the renewed mandate to pursue development, stability and socio-economic progress across the state.
“Now that he has won, Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election,” he said.
Tinubu also commended other candidates who contested the election, noting that their participation contributed to Nigeria’s democratic development.
“I salute the courage and discipline displayed by other contestants in the election. Their participation deepened and enriched our country’s democratic culture,” the President stated.
He described the election outcome as an expression of the people’s will and a sign of the resilience of Nigeria’s democratic system.

“The outcome of the election reflects the will of the people and is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our land,” he said.
The President also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for their roles in conducting the election.
He described the exercise as peaceful and transparent, saying it produced a clear winner.
“I must also commend the Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies for conducting a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner,” Tinubu said.
He expressed hope that Nigeria’s democratic institutions would continue to grow stronger.
“May our democracy continue to thrive and be strengthened,” the President added.
