LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Former Big Brother Naija housemate Erica Nlewedim has ruled out returning to any reality show, saying that while the experience brought significant financial benefits, it also came with years of emotional distress that needed therapy.
Erica said the backlash continued for about three years and became so overwhelming that she eventually sought professional help to deal with its emotional effect.
“I’ll never go to a show like Big Brother Naija again in my life. I’m happy I did it because of course, it changed my life money wise but I’m never doing it again if I’m given the opportunity,” Erica said.
The former housemate admitted that the experience brought significant financial benefits, but said the emotional cost made her unwilling to repeat it.

“I was getting like 3 years of back to back insults. I had to see a therapist because of that show,” she added.
She explained that social media, particularly Instagram, became a source of anxiety because every new notification made her worry that another wave of criticism was coming.
Recalling how social media affected her mental state, Erica stated, “My heart will just be beating if I open Instagram and I’ll see notifications, I’ll start getting worried that they might be dragging me for something again.”
Erica maintained that the experience remains an important part of her journey, but despite how much BBNaija changed her life financially, she will never step into the reality show’s house or any other again.
