LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Music executive Dapper has responded to allegations from Nigerian artistes and former signees Seyi Vibez, Shallipopi and T.I Blaze over their contracts, payments and business dealings with him, insisting that available records will reveal the truth.
Born Damilola Akinwunmi, the CEO of Dapper Music addressed the controversies in a series of posts on his official X account.
Rather than engage in what he described as insults, the music executive said he was prepared to let the relevant authorities and independent professionals examine the records.
“I will not demean myself by disrespecting the one thing I stand on, which is my love for music. So I won’t stoop so low as to engage in insults,” he wrote.
Dapper also dismissed the allegations as misleading, while insisting that he had nothing to hide.
“I have nothing to hide. The records exist. The authorities have them. Let the process establish the truth,” Dapper said.
He accused the artistes of presenting what he called false narratives online and argued that their decision to leave was voluntary.
“You chose to leave! No one forced you, and we are still fine without you! Move on! Stop acting obsessed!” he added.
Giving an account of how his relationship with the artistes began, Dapper revealed that their business relationship started in 2021, claiming that he invested in the first project before receiving any music in return.
“For the avoidance of doubt, this relationship began in 2021, and it began with me putting money down for your first project before getting any music from you,” he wrote.
He then questioned the narrative over who helped build whose career, asking, “So who made who?”

The music executive also appeared to directly address Shallipopi, whom he referred to as “Mr. Elon”, while challenging the artistes to subject their financial records and contracts to independent scrutiny.
According to Dapper, an audit had already been carried out by a reputable company.
However, he said the artistes were free to request another review by a major auditing or law firm.
“We already did an audit from a reputable company! Surprise surprise, who owes who?” he stated.
He went further by listing KPMG, PwC, Deloitte and several Nigerian law firms as possible organizations that could conduct a forensic review of the accounts and contracts.
“Let them run a forensic analysis and interpret both the accounts and the contract for us, and tell you I cheated you!” Dapper said.

He also disputed an allegation concerning a scheduled appearance involving Shallipopi. The music executive maintained that he attended the event while the singer failed to show up.
“For our last scheduled appearance, you didn’t show up nigga. I was there, but you wanna come online and say, ‘let’s meet in court’, when you’re the one running from court,” he added.
Dapper concluded by maintaining that the relevant documents were available and that the appropriate processes were already underway.
“I have said what I need to say. The records are available. The appropriate processes are ongoing,” he wrote.
His response maintains that the contracts, financial records and ongoing legal processes will ultimately determine the facts behind the allegations.
