LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian singer Seyi Vibez has reignited the controversy surrounding Dapper Music after making a series of allegations against the company’s owner, Damilola Akinwunmi.
The singer made the claims on X while reacting to the ongoing dispute involving Dapper Music and some of the artistes associated with the company.
In his posts, Seyi Vibez claimed he played a major role in the growth of Akinwunmi’s music business, alleging that money generated from his music was used to sign other artistes.
“Am bigger than the whole Dapper and his entire generation. And my money was the money being used to sign all the artiste he signed since Chance Naham! Allah walai. I made Dapper,” he said.

The singer also dragged celebrity chef Hilda Baci, who is Dapper’s girlfriend into the controversy, alleging that money from artistes music catalogues was being spent on her Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).
“Na Hilda Baci BBL all una catalogue money dey go. All of una dey craze and una mama,” Seyi Vibez wrote.

He further alleged that he once became seriously ill after eating food prepared by Hilda Baci, claiming the meal had been given to him by Dapper Music.
“I chop Hilda Baci food one day. Na the same Dapper give me. The food almost kill me,” the artist claimed.
The claims come amid heightened attention around the relationship between Dapper Music and artistes linked to the platform, with Seyi Vibez now accusing the executive of taking advantage of and exploiting those working with him.
The “Mario Kart” hitmaker also expressed concern for artistes who remain associated with Dapper Music, suggesting they could face similar problems.

“Dapper won take all of them life. Oh boi. I pray say the people wey remain no go see chance commot,” Seyi Vibez stated.
Dapper Music began as a talent management company before expanding into music distribution in 2018.
The company later evolved into a record label and signed Seyi Vibez in 2022.
The singer’s rise under the platform, particularly following the success of his Billion Dollar Baby project, reportedly helped Dapper Music generate resources to invest in other artistes.
However, Seyi Vibez’s latest allegations have added a new dimension to the controversy, with the singer presenting himself as a major force behind the growth of the business.
