ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Imole Campaign Council has expressed confidence that Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, will secure a decisive victory in Saturday’s governorship election.
The campaign organisation, in a statement by its spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, said the large turnout and support witnessed across the state had strengthened its belief that Adeleke would retain his seat.
The council described the response from voters as an indication of widespread support for the governor and commended residents for what it called a strong vote of confidence in his administration.
It, however, urged Adeleke’s supporters and other voters to remain vigilant until the conclusion of the electoral process.
The campaign council also raised allegations of intimidation, vote-buying and unlawful arrests, accusing the All Progressives Congress and security personnel of targeting opposition supporters during the election.
Vanguard reports that it claimed its situation room had received reports, accompanied by video evidence, of alleged electoral malpractice at different locations across the state.

The council alleged that APC officials were offering voters between N25,000 and N50,000 in exchange for their votes.
It urged voters to reject such inducements and vote according to their preferred candidates.
“We urge the people of Osun State not to trade away their future for peanuts and vote in Governor Ademola Adeleke for the growth and development of our dear state,” the council said.
The campaign organisation further alleged that soldiers had been deployed to arrest and detain Accord Party campaigners while voting was still ongoing.
It described the alleged deployment as unacceptable and called on voters to monitor the process closely and resist what it termed the militarisation of the election.
The council maintained that, despite the alleged incidents, it remained confident that Adeleke would emerge victorious when the results are announced.
