ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has described the political battle facing Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, in Saturday’s governorship election as a tough contest, with prominent figures of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), rallying behind the party’s candidate.
Sani made the observation in a post on his X handle as voters across the state turned out to elect the next governor.
The former lawmaker noted that several influential APC politicians had converged on Osun to support the party’s candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, while prominent opposition figures were yet to show a similar presence in the state.

He said the situation had left Adeleke, who is seeking a second term, to face the contest largely on his own.
“All the Big shots of the ruling party are in the state the Governorship election is taking place. The big shots of the opposition are somewhere else; leaving the incumbent Governor to battle for his life,” Sani wrote.
Using an analogy from wildlife documentaries, the former senator compared Adeleke’s situation to that of a zebra surrounded by lions.
“That’s how a Zebra is surrounded by a pride of lions in the National Geographic Channel,” he added.
