ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration is committed to addressing the country’s longstanding challenges, saying it is now his responsibility to fix inherited problems and improve governance for the benefit of citizens.
Channels TV reports that the President gave the assurance while receiving members of the National Executive Council of the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), led by its National President, Salimon Akanni Oladiti, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Tinubu said his government would adopt a data-driven and technical approach in tackling issues affecting Nigeria’s refineries, including comprehensive assessments, restructuring and improved management systems aimed at restoring efficiency in the sector.

According to the President, his administration has accepted both the achievements and shortcomings of previous governments and remains focused on finding lasting solutions rather than dwelling on past failures.
“I am not a leader who spends time looking backward because I have accepted the assets and liabilities of those before me. Whatever has happened over the years, it is now my responsibility as President to fix and make things work for the benefit of Nigerians,” he stated.
Tinubu stressed that his government would continue to pursue reforms designed to strengthen the petroleum industry, revive domestic refining capacity and support broader economic development across the country.
