LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actors Debbie Shokoya and Obatide Kelvin have playfully demanded N3 million from colleague Mide Martins following reports that her movie ‘Iya’ generated more than N500 million on YouTube.
Actors Debbie Shokoya and Obatide Kelvin confronted Martins in a video that has gained attention online, jokingly demanding a share of the reported earnings.
The exchange came amid growing discussions about the performance of ‘Iya’ on YouTube, with actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde also weighing in on the film’s reported revenue.
In the viral clip, Kelvin humorously presented himself as part of the group of people who had supported Martins throughout her career.
Describing himself as an “Omo Onile”, a Yoruba expression often used for someone claiming a stake or entitlement due to close ties, he argued that those who had supported the actress deserved to benefit from her reported success.

“This woman has made N500 million from her movie on YouTube, and it has been confirmed. So we, the association of Omoonile and her supporters that have supported her to a large extent, that it is even conspicuous to the blind, have come to take our N3 million. You have made over N500 million; giving me N3 million isn’t an issue,” Kelvin said.
Also, Shokoya backed the reported figure, insisting that Martins had indeed made more than N500 million from the movie.
“I am telling you. She has made over N500 million; quote me anywhere,” she declared.
The playful confrontation has added an entertaining twist to the conversation surrounding ‘Iya’, which has continued to attract attention because of its reported performance on YouTube.
