The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), chapter Okitipupa, Ondo State, has embarked on an indefinite strike.
Dr Oluwatoyin Ogunbamike, the chapter’s ASUU Chairman, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Okitipupa, that the industrial action was as a result of non-implementation of the 2025 Federal Government- ASUU agreement by the state government.
According to him, the industrial action is total, comprehensive, and indefinite until the state government implements the 2025 FG-ASUU agreement.
“The agreement includes 40 per cent of Current Consolidated Salary Scale, Earned Academic Allowance (EAA), and Consolidated Academic Tool Allowance (CATA).“
Others are Professorial Allowance, Responsibility Allowance, Supervision Allowance as well as other non- monetary components of the agreement.
“In spite of the state being an oil producing one, the government of the day is not responsive to educational development.”
Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), another state-owned institution began its indefinite strike on Tuesday, based on the same non-implemetation of the 2025 FG-ASUU agreement by the state government.
