ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has criticised the continued exclusion of law graduates from the National Open University of Nigeria from gaining admission into the Nigerian Law School.
He called on relevant stakeholders to put an end to what he described as discriminatory treatment against graduates of the institution.
Nwifuru made the call on Friday during a meeting with the management of NOUN in Abakaliki, according to a statement, he expressed concern over the restrictions imposed on graduates of the university’s Faculty of Law.
The governor said NOUN remains a federal institution with a track record of producing competent professionals and qualified graduates.

He urged the Vice-Chancellor of NOUN, Prof. Uduma Oji Uduma, to lead sustained advocacy efforts against what he described as the discrimination and exclusion of the university’s law graduates from the Nigerian Law School.
According to him, the continued restriction undermines the credibility of a federal university while denying qualified Nigerians the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to national development.
Nwifuru said NOUN has a population of accomplished professionals seeking further academic advancement and has consistently produced knowledgeable graduates across different fields.
He called on relevant stakeholders to resolve the matter and ensure equal opportunities for all qualified law graduates, irrespective of their mode of study.
