ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has formally declared support for President Bola Tinubu and the Rainbow Coalition, the political movement championed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, saying the prolonged political crisis in the state is over.
The governor made the declaration on Tuesday during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Riven Medical Facility, a public-private pharmaceutical manufacturing project in Rivers State, where he urged his supporters to unite behind every candidate presented by the coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“I am supporting our Rainbow Coalition. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is our President, and he is the one we are supporting. The governorship candidate is the candidate I am supporting, and anybody who believes in me will support every candidate under the Rainbow Coalition,” Fubara said.
The governor dismissed calls for him to delay formally identifying with the coalition, insisting that he had already returned to the political family.
“I am already in the family. I have returned to our family. Give your total support to the coalition. The time of war is over; it is now time for peace, and that peace will take us to another level,” he added.
Fubara also ruled out participation in any political activity capable of reigniting divisions in Rivers State.

“I am not party to anything that will bring any form of disunity in this state. We have done what we need to do, and now we are moving forward,” he said.
Speaking on the Riven Medical Facility project, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the investment, explaining that government support was based on assurances that the project was viable and would be delivered within schedule.
He disclosed that the first phase of the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility is expected to be completed within three months, describing it as a strategic investment that would stimulate industrialisation, create jobs and establish Rivers State as a major hub for the production of medical consumables.
According to him, the project is also expected to attract local and international investors while encouraging the establishment of complementary industries around the facility.
Fubara assured investors of the state government’s full support and urged members of the host community to cooperate with the promoters to ensure successful delivery of the project.
He further revealed that the Rivers State Government is currently involved in legal disputes with several companies over contractual claims exceeding N200 billion, stressing that his administration is determined to avoid similar disputes by ensuring transparency and proper project execution.
Vanguard reports that the governor expressed optimism that the first phase of the pharmaceutical factory would be ready for commissioning within the next three months.
