LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi has playfully debunked ex-teammate Jamie Vardy’s claims that he and Kelechi Iheanacho used a ‘juju cream’ to treat injuries while they were at Leicester City, Voice of Naija – VONa Communications reports.
A few days ago, Jamie Vardy disclosed on his podcast theVardyparty that Super Eagles players Wilfried Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho utilized a ‘juju cream’ to treat their injuries during their time together at the King Power Stadium.
“They were using a juju cream. They use to get injured, just little knocks.
“Then they’d go back to Nigeria for one day literally, come back, and then they’ve got a nice big tub of juju cream,” Vardy said.
The ex-England international added that the physios were not allowed to use any other ointment or balm to treat the injuries except the juju cream.
“That was the only thing that the masseuses were allowed to massage on the injured areas and they used to tell us it had come from a Nigerian witch doctor,” he added.
Vardy’s revelation sparked a lot of funny comments online as some fans believe the juju cream worked.
However, Ndidi who now plies his trade for Besiktas in the Turkish Super Lig has now cleared the air about the ‘juju cream’
When asked by former Super Eagles player Victor Anichebe about the authenticity of the cream on Instagram, Ndidi replied saying:
“It was Shea butter (ori),” Ndidi wrote with a laughing emoji.
Former Super Eagles player Kenneth Omeruo also wrote that it was only a joke.
“Them de whine u, u de believe, Shea butter mate,” Omeruo joked.
Iheanacho on the other hand has not said anything about the cream but most fans believe the whole saga was initiated by him due to his jovial and playful nature.
