LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigerian rappe Falz has described President Bola Tinubu’s “E Mi L’okan” campaign slogan as the most absurd statement he has ever heard, arguing that leaders who willingly sought power should not complain about the burden of governing while reacting to First Lady Remi Tinubu’s recent remarks.
A clip from his interview on Arise TV went viral after the award-winning entertainer described the slogan, which translates to “It’s my turn,” as the “most absurd political statement” he has ever heard.
“The most absurd campaign slogan I’ve ever heard is, ‘E Mi L’okan,'” Falz said.
The rapper argued that anyone who campaigned with such confidence for the nation’s highest office should not later complain about the weight of leadership.

His comments came while reacting to First Lady Remi Tinubu’s recent statement that the pressure on the federal government is overwhelming and that celebrities and young Nigerians should help ease the burden.
Responding to the remark, Falz questioned why government officials would complain about responsibilities they willingly accepted.
“What do you mean pressure on the government? Did anyone beg you to take up this role?” he asked.
Furthermore, the “This Is Nigeria” star criticized what he described as the government’s spending priorities, saying public resources appear to be channelled towards luxury vehicles, private jets and other expensive assets while insecurity continues to affect millions of Nigerians.
Fake stated that spending on luxury items should never take precedence over tackling the country’s pressing security challenges and improving the lives of citizens.
