ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has praised President Bola Tinubu, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, security agencies and the Nigeria Union of Teachers over the successful rescue of the schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oyo State.

The governor described the rescue operation as a major victory for the country, saying it reflected the commitment of governments at all levels and security agencies to protecting the lives of Nigerians.

In a statement issued on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, the governor commended the coordinated efforts that led to the safe rescue of the victims.

“I commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde, and the security agencies for their tireless efforts in ensuring that the children and their teachers were rescued alive. This achievement is a testament to the commitment of the government and our security personnel to protecting the lives of Nigerians,” Idris said.

The governor congratulated the Federal Government, the Oyo State Government, security agencies and the families of the rescued victims, describing the operation as a significant breakthrough in the fight against criminality.

He expressed delight over the successful rescue, noting that the swift collaboration between the Federal Government, the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army and other stakeholders had restored hope to the affected families and reassured Nigerians that insecurity could be effectively addressed through collective action.

“This rescue is a reminder that when government institutions, security agencies, and communities work together, we can overcome even the gravest challenges. May this success inspire renewed commitment to the safety of our schools and the protection of our children,” he said.

Idris also celebrated with the families of the rescued students and teachers and expressed solidarity with everyone affected by the incident.

He extended condolences to families who may have suffered losses during the ordeal, assuring them of the prayers and support of the Kebbi State Government.

The governor further applauded the Nigeria Union of Teachers for standing by its members throughout the period of the abduction, describing the union’s support as commendable.

He also urged Nigerians to continue providing security agencies with credible information to strengthen ongoing efforts to combat insecurity across the country.
