LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Controversial Nigerian disc jockey DJ Chicken has reportedly been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force following a viral video in which he allegedly threatened the life of Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.
The development was disclosed by content creator Tunde Perry during a livestream, days after the video sparked reactions across social media.
In the viral clip, DJ Chicken reportedly claimed that President Tinubu would not win the 2027 presidential election and allegedly threatened to harm Seyi Tinubu if the president secured another term.
Following the widespread circulation of the video, reports of the disc jockey’s arrest began trending online.
Tunde Perry later confirmed that the arrest had taken place, stating that DJ Chicken had been taken into police custody and was already facing legal proceedings.
“DJ Chicken did a video that Tinubu can’t win the next election. Knowing fully well that Tinubu is the only Yoruba man contesting for the next presidential election in 2027. And said even if Tinubu wins, he will kill Seyi Tinubu,” Perry said.

He added that neither President Tinubu nor his son was directly responsible for the arrest, claiming that individuals close to the presidency took action over the alleged threat.
“The president and his son are not responsible for his arrest but those close to the presidency did,” he added.
Perry also explained that the situation developed quickly, leaving DJ Chicken unable to contact his management team before his arrest.
According to him, he personally reached out to the entertainer’s management and legal representative.
“DJ Chicken has already been taken to court. I was the one who called DJ Chicken’s management and his lawyer. Nobody knew when he was picked up,” he revealed.
The police have not released an official statement confirming details of the arrest or the charges against DJ Chicken at the time of this report.
