Lagos, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- NIGERIA LNG Limited (NLNG) has been recognised with the Operational Excellence Award at the Energy Awards 2026, held during the 25th edition of Nigeria Oil and Gas (NOG) Energy Week in Abuja, in recognition of its sustained commitment to operational efficiency, safety and reliability.

The award honours organisations that have demonstrated exceptional performance in process optimisation, operational reliability, cost efficiency, asset management and sustainable business practices.

Presented at one of Africa’s leading energy conferences, the recognition underscores NLNG’s role as a benchmark for operational excellence within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The annual NOG Energy Week brought together policymakers, regulators, energy executives, investors and technology providers to discuss strategies for strengthening Nigeria’s energy sector and accelerating Africa’s energy transition.

Throughout the conference, NLNG participated in high-level discussions on gas development, sustainability, innovation, operational excellence and Nigeria’s growing role in global energy security.

The company also engaged industry stakeholders on initiatives aimed at expanding gas utilisation, improving operational performance and supporting a more resilient and competitive energy industry.

According to NLNG, the award reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to maintaining world-class operational standards through disciplined asset management, a strong safety culture and continuous process improvement.

The company said the recognition also celebrates the dedication and professionalism of its workforce, whose efforts have enabled NLNG to consistently deliver reliable liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies to international markets while supporting domestic gas utilisation.

Beyond its commercial operations, NLNG noted that its activities continue to contribute to Nigeria’s economic development through local content promotion, government revenue generation and strategic investments across the energy value chain.

The recognition comes as the company continues work on its Train 7 Project, a major expansion expected to increase NLNG’s production capacity and strengthen Nigeria’s position in the global LNG market.

The company added that it will continue to pursue operational excellence, innovation and responsible business practices as it delivers value to shareholders, customers and the broader Nigerian economy.

The 2026 edition of NOG Energy Week focused on the importance of collaboration, innovation and investment in unlocking Africa’s energy potential, with NLNG’s latest industry recognition highlighting the critical role of operational excellence in achieving sustainable growth across the continent’s energy sector.
