LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- A Lagos concert has earned global recognition after Guinness World Records (GWR) confirmed that Dapper Live’s Afrobeats performance created a new record for the largest orchestra assembled for the genre, blending traditional orchestral sounds with modern Nigerian music.
Dapper Live & Artists is associated with Nigerian music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper.
Speaking on the musical event, the global record body announced the achievement on X, sharing a video from the event that showcased the fusion of Afrobeats, orchestral music and live performance.
According to GWR, the record was achieved with 85 musicians during the “Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience” concert, which took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos in December 2025.
The organization stated that the event was staged as a live orchestral performance based on an Afrobeats composition, featuring a conductor, lead vocalist, choir, dancers and musicians performing together.

“Largest orchestra for an Afrobeats concert – 85 musicians by Dapper Live & Artists @DapperMusicEnt_. This attempt took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria, in December 2025 and was staged as a live orchestral performance based on an Afrobeats composition,” GWR stated.
The record body added that the performance highlighted the ability of Afrobeats and orchestral music to work together, describing the concert as a showcase of musical creativity and collaboration.
“Led by a conductor, the concert featured a lead singer, an accompanying choir, dancers, and 85 musicians performing in coordination. The event showcased how Afrobeats and orchestral music can seamlessly blend,” it added.
The December 16, 2025 concert featured performances from Fuji legends King Saheed Osupa and KS1 Malaika, alongside Afrobeats acts including T.I Blaze, Bhadboi OML, Lasmid, TML Vibez, Rybeena, Kashcoming, Heis Cazulee and Dwillsharmony.
The achievement adds another milestone to Afrobeats growing global influence, showing how Nigerian music continues to expand beyond traditional formats into new creative spaces.
