ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Governors serving their first term under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday held a closed-door meeting at the Kebbi State Government House to deliberate on national issues and the ruling party’s strategic direction ahead of future political engagements
The gathering, tagged the Progressive First-Term Governors’ Meeting, brought together governors from across the country to discuss governance, national development and matters affecting the APC.
Among those in attendance were the governors of Kaduna, Plateau, Ekiti, Delta, Zamfara, Kano, Jigawa, Ebonyi, Edo, Ondo, Kogi, Sokoto and Benue states, alongside several other first-term governors elected on the APC platform.
The governors were welcomed by their host, Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, alongside the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
Providing updates on the arrivals through his Facebook page, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Kebbi State Governor, Abuzaidu Yari, said the meeting would focus on critical national issues and the APC’s development agenda.

Announcing the arrival of Sokoto State Governor, Dr Ahmad Aliyu, Yari wrote that the governor had arrived at the Kebbi State Government House where APC governors were scheduled to hold a special meeting to discuss issues considered vital to Nigeria’s development.
In another update, Yari confirmed the arrival of Kaduna State Governor Sen. Uba Sani, Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji, Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
According to him, the governors received a warm welcome from Governor Idris and Minister Bagudu before proceeding into the private session.
The meeting is expected to examine strategies for strengthening collaboration among APC-controlled states, advancing the party’s development agenda, promoting good governance, encouraging sustainable economic growth and fostering national unity.
It is also expected to review issues of national importance affecting the country and the ruling party.
The Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum is expected to brief journalists on the resolutions reached at the end of the meeting.
