LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actor and filmmaker Olakunle Fawole, popularly known as Abounce, has made a candid revelation about his relationship with ex-wife Yvonne Jegede, saying his romantic feelings are gone but he would still do everything possible to protect her.
Speaking during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the actor admitted that he no longer has romantic feelings for Jegede.
However, he stressed that he still respects and values her because she is the mother of their son.
Reflecting on the failed marriage, Abounce chose not to assign blame, explaining that the relationship simply did not work because they were on different paths.
“I had a girlfriend once, but it didn’t work. I think we’re just, on different planes. I’d rather just be the one to say, ‘Oh, everything was my fault,’ so to speak, I don’t like the enmity of things,” he said.

The actor also stated that he believes former partners should remain civil, explaining that he has no interest in pretending someone he once loved does not exist.
“I don’t want to see somebody that I used to be with down the street and I turn my face away,” he added.
When asked directly whether he still loves Jegede, Abounce gave a brief but clear response.
“No,” the actor stated explicitly.
Despite that, he maintained that his sense of responsibility toward her has not changed because of the bond they share through their son.

To emphasize his point, the actor added that he would do everything possible to protect her if she were ever in danger.
“Yes, she’s the mother of my son. I’m somewhere, and she’s in trouble, somebody is doing something, I’ll try my best to k+ll the person,” Abounce stated.
He maintained that his reaction would be driven by a desire to protect her, arguing that his willingness to stand by her comes solely from the fact that she is the mother of his child.
The former couple met on the set of the television drama ‘Behind the Siege’ before getting married in a glamorous Lagos ceremony in February 2018.
However, the marriage ended less than a year later while Jegede was pregnant with their son, Xavier.
