ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced a planned preventive maintenance exercise at the Katampe 132/33 Kilovolt (kV) Transmission Substation in Abuja, scheduled to take place on Saturday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The company’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mbah, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday.
According to Mbah, the maintenance is intended to enable TCN engineers carry out preventive servicing on the 100 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA) 132/33kV Power Transformer (TR1), its auxiliary equipment and other associated switchgear at the substation.

“Consequently, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to off-take bulk power for distribution to customers in parts of Mpape, Maitama, Jahi, Life Camp,
“Others are Kado Fish Market, Idu-Karmo, and their environs during the maintenance period,” she said.
Mbah expressed regret over the inconvenience the temporary outage may cause residents and businesses in the affected areas.
She added that routine maintenance of transmission equipment is necessary to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
