LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Grammy winner Burna Boy has responded to the backlash surrounding his newly acquired one-of-a-kind custom Bugatti Chiron, using a freestyle performance to address critics questioning his lavish purchase.
The Afrobeats star recently made headlines after unveiling a custom-built Venuum Widebody Bugatti Chiron reportedly valued at more than ₦9 billion.
The luxury car, specially commissioned through Dubai-based Venuum Black, is said to be the only one of its kind in the world.

The bespoke vehicle features French Racing Blue paint, carbon-fibre styling, an oversized widebody kit, the number 7 on the bonnet and Burna Boy’s name engraved on the rear wing.
Built from the already exclusive 1,500-horsepower Bugatti Chiron, the customized model has attracted global attention for its unique design.
News of the acquisition quickly divided opinion online. While many fans praised the singer for expanding his luxury car collection, others criticized the purchase, arguing that the money could have been channelled into investments or charitable causes.
Some social media users also questioned the practicality of bringing such a high-end sports car into Nigeria, pointing to the country’s road conditions.
Burna Boy addressed the criticism during his performance at the Afro Nation Portugal on Friday night, delivering a freestyle that drew cheers from the audience.

“I buy Bugatti, dem ask which road I go drive am? No be today we dey do road like Julius Berger,” Burna Boy responded.
The lyric appeared to dismiss concerns about Nigeria’s infrastructure while suggesting that poor roads are not a new problem.
The latest purchase adds another luxury vehicle to Burna Boy’s growing garage, which already includes several Lamborghinis and Ferraris.
