LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has added her voice to the growing debate over the alleged ghost agency listed in Nigeria’s 2026 budget, challenging authorities to explain how an institution reportedly denied by the Presidency received public funds.

The issue has dominated public discussions after reports revealed that the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) was captured in the 2026 Appropriation Act with an alleged N1.3 billion allocation.

The revelation sparked criticism over possible loopholes in Nigeria’s budgeting process.

Confusion deepened after the Presidency publicly stated that the council does not exist, leaving many Nigerians questioning how an organization it disowned was included in a budget approved by the National Assembly and later signed into law by Bola Tinubu.

The controversy became even more striking following allegations that the fictitious agency’s Director-General, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Mathew had for some time operated under the council’s name.

He was said to have received foreign diplomats, worked from offices inside the Federal Secretariat in Abuja, maintained several bank accounts, including one with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

However, police investigations reportedly concluded that the agency had no legal backing.

Joining the conversation, Jegede took to Instagram to express disbelief over the unfolding revelations.

Rather than making accusations, the actress posed a series of questions she believes deserve clear answers.

“The questions I want to ask,

What year was the agency created?

If the Federal Government didn’t create the agency, how did they have a budget in the Federal Government?

Plus an account with CBN?

Can someone help me with answers? Is it possible?” Jegede asked.

Her reaction reflects the concerns shared by many Nigerians, who continue to demand greater transparency over the controversial budget entry snd the agency itself.
