LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha has publicly thanked the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi after receiving a brand-new car, luxury gifts and a chieftaincy title in celebration of the birth of his son.
The actor shared the news in a Facebook post on Thursday, describing the monarch’s gesture as a display of fatherly affection and a warm reception for him and his wife, fashion designer Abiodun Tokunbo, aka Luminee.
In his appreciation message, the actor said he was deeply touched by the royal recognition and thanked the Ooni for the confidence shown to his family.
“My deepest gratitude to His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife. Baba, thank you for the royal welcome, fatherly love, and the confidence you gave my wife Afolashade Omiyinka and I,” he said.

The actor also revealed that the monarch presented him with a new vehicle, expensive gifts and the chieftaincy title Baba Awada Konge Oduwa, saying the honour meant a great deal to him as an indigene of Ile-Ife.
“For the luxurious gifts you blessed us with, and the brand new car — I am truly humbled. As a son of the soil. I’m also honoured by the chieftaincy title Baba Awada Konge Oduwa. Ile Ife, Ile Oodua! … ATI IJOYE PELU GBOGBO OMO ILE IFE THANK YOU SIR/MA,” Baba Ijesha added.
The latest development comes weeks after Baba Ijesha and Luminee made headlines with the birth of their son.
The couple’s announcement, which surfaced on June 15, quickly generated mixed reactions across social media.
Baba Ijesha returned to public attention after regaining his freedom in November 2025. The actor had served a three-year prison sentence following his conviction for indecent treatment of a child and sexual assault of a minor.
