ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- African Democratic Congress, ADC, vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, Rotimi Amaechi, on Thursday held a private meeting with former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, in Abuja, amid ongoing political consultations ahead of the next general election.
Although neither camp disclosed the purpose of the meeting, it is widely seen as part of a series of strategic engagements by key political figures as parties consolidate their preparations for the 2027 polls.
The meeting came shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, uploaded the names of the ADC’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Amaechi, to its candidate nomination portal, marking another step in the party’s preparations for the election.

Amaechi was recently unveiled as the ADC’s vice-presidential candidate, completing the party’s presidential ticket for the forthcoming general election.
Thursday’s consultation also followed a Federal High Court judgment in Abuja affirming the leadership of former Senate President David Mark as the National Chairman of the ADC, a decision regarded by party supporters as strengthening the party’s leadership structure ahead of the campaign season.
While details of the Amaechi-Tambuwal meeting remained undisclosed as of press time, political observers believe the engagement forms part of wider consultations aimed at building alliances, harmonising party interests and fine-tuning the ADC’s strategy as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
