LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Controversial musician, Habeeb ‘Portable’ Badmus, has vowed to defeat his long-time boxing rival Charles Okocha when the duo meet for a rematch on Friday July 31.
The development comes after their press conference for a promotion event descended into chaos on Tuesday at Ikeja, Lagos.
At the conference, the singer reiterated that he was the better fight since he won the first encounter unanimously.
“You that I have beaten before, I will break your bones. Fight is coming,” Portable said.
Okocha responded by dismissing their first meeting and promising a different outcome this time.
“Let me tell you something, I will kill you in the ring. I am fearless.
“We will see who the man is on the 31st of July. Everyone knows the first one was not a real fight, but this time it is the real deal.
“He will not survive two rounds if he finds a way to escape me in the first round,” he boasted.

The boxing promoter Ezekiel Adamu confirmed the rematch had been activated at Okocha’s request following their first encounter.
“They fought before. Charles wants a rematch.
“He activated a rematch clause. So, we expected that, and we will make it happen,” Adamu said.
The full card for the July 31 event, will feature Taiwo ‘Esehpo’ Agbaje against South African Ayabonga Sonjika.
Musicians Mr Real and Idowest who have a longstanding social media feud will also settle it with their fists.
Many other fights are also on the cards as celebrity boxing continues to make a foothold in the Nigeria sports scene.
