LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Veteran Nollywood actors Segun Arinze and Jerry Amilo have dismissed fresh concerns about Hanks Anuku’s wellbeing, clarifying that a viral video showing the actor lying by the roadside is an old clip that has been recirculated online.
In the viral clip, Anuku was seen talking to himself while holding a disposable cup in Wuse 2, Abuja.
The footage prompted widespread reactions, with many Nigerians expressing concern over his appearance, while others speculated that he was under the influence of alcohol.
However, veteran actors Segun Arinze and Jerry Amilo have moved quickly to calm fears, explaining that the circulating footage is not recent.
Reacting in the comment section of a popular entertainment blog that shared the video, Arinze dismissed the claims that the incident had just happened.

“This is a very old video oo,” he wrote.
Amilo also appealed to the public to stop spreading misleading information capable of causing unnecessary panic.
“PLEASE THIS IS AN OLD VIDEO. STOP SPREADING EVIL NEWS AND WISHES,” he wrote.
The clarification comes nearly three years after Anuku publicly opened up about his personal struggles.
In November 2023, the actor revealed that his drinking habit was linked to his battle with depression, a disclosure that sparked conversations about mental health within the entertainment industry.
