Lagos, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nigeria’s push to reduce post-harvest losses and improve food preservation in underserved communities has received a boost as All On announced a $1 million investment in Eja-Ice Nigeria Limited, a provider of solar-powered refrigeration and cold-chain infrastructure.
The funding is expected to expand Eja-Ice’s manufacturing capacity and accelerate the deployment of cold-storage solutions in off-grid and weak-grid markets, where unreliable electricity continues to undermine agricultural productivity and income generation.
All On, an impact investment company established to support the growth of Nigeria’s renewable energy sector, said the investment aligns with its strategy of backing businesses that deliver both energy access and socio-economic benefits.
Eja-Ice develops and manufactures solar-powered cold-storage systems and ice solutions designed for fishers, farmers, traders and other operators handling perishable products. Its technology helps reduce spoilage, improve product quality and extend market access for rural enterprises that often lack dependable power supply.
The investment comes at a time when inadequate cold-chain infrastructure remains one of the biggest challenges facing Nigeria’s agricultural and fisheries sectors. Significant quantities of food are lost annually due to poor storage facilities, particularly in rural and coastal communities where electricity access remains limited.

By expanding its operations, Eja-Ice aims to provide more businesses with affordable refrigeration services, helping to stabilise incomes, strengthen local value chains and improve food security outcomes.
Commenting on the investment, Chief Executive Officer of All On, Caroline Eboumbou, said the company remains committed to supporting businesses that create measurable social and economic impact.
“All On’s investment in Eja-Ice reflects our approach of supporting solutions that improve energy access while enhancing livelihoods, reducing costs and enabling businesses to grow. Strengthening cold-chain infrastructure is an important step towards building more resilient local economies and expanding opportunities in underserved markets,” she said.
Eja-Ice’s vertically integrated model enables it to oversee product design, manufacturing and service delivery, allowing the company to tailor its solutions to the specific needs of communities with limited access to electricity. The company currently serves micro-enterprises, cooperatives and community-based infrastructure projects across several off-grid locations.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Eja-Ice Nigeria Limited, Yusuf Bilesanmi, described the funding as a milestone that would support the company’s ambition to scale locally developed energy solutions across Africa.
“This capital raise is a huge step forward in our vision to power homes and businesses with products designed, assembled and optimised right here on the continent. It’s not just about access to electricity—it’s about dignity, productivity and opportunity for the over 600 million people across sub-Saharan Africa who are still off-grid,” he said.
The investment further strengthens All On’s portfolio of renewable energy ventures focused on expanding energy access, supporting local enterprise development and driving sustainable economic growth.
