LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA) – Three years after their first celebrity boxing showdown, Nollywood actor Charles Okocha is preparing for another chance to face singer Portable, with both entertainers set to renew their heated rivalry in a rematch.
The highly anticipated bout, tagged “Unfinished Business,” will take place on July 31 at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, nearly three years after their first encounter inside the ring.
Announcing the event, the organizers promised an action-packed showdown featuring four fighters.
“Here comes the chaos! Africa, the stage is set. Now we settle the score. Portable, Charles Okocha, Agbaje, Musa. Four fighters, one ring, no more talk. July 31st,” the statement said.
The rematch marks another chapter in the pair’s long-running feud, which began in 2023 after Portable accused Okocha of failing to pay him ₦20 million following an endorsement deal.
However, Okocha denied the allegation, insisting there was no formal contract between them.

According to the actor, Portable had initially approached him for friendship before being invited to an event, adding that he still paid the singer “a whopping ₦5 million” despite the absence of a signed agreement.
The disagreement quickly spilled onto social media, with both celebrities exchanging words before agreeing to settle their differences in the boxing ring.
Portable eventually emerged victorious in their first clash, giving him the psychological edge heading into the rematch.
Meanwhile, the singer has already signaled his confidence ahead of the contest.
Reacting to the official announcement on social media, Portable wrote, “I go prepare, I go win again.”
The upcoming fight also comes months after Portable suffered a defeat to streamer Carter Efe in another celebrity boxing contest, raising the stakes for his return to the ring.
With both entertainers eager to make a statement, fans are now counting down to another dramatic showdown.
