LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has shared the story of how she met her husband, revealing that she believed God told her on the very first day they met that he would become the man she would marry.
The actress opened up during a recent interview, where she reflected on her love story and made it clear that marriage was never something she spent much time dreaming about while growing up.
Kadiri stated that she was not one of those women who sat down imagining wedding plans or putting pressure on herself to settle down.
“I’ve never really been the girl who sits down and thinks about marriage. It wasn’t a thing for me. I didn’t even know whether I was going to marry. I knew I was a catch and anyone that was going to marry me was going to be lucky,” she said.

The actress explained that she first met her husband in a work setting when he approached her and tried to strike up a conversation.
At the time, she was not particularly interested, but she eventually gave him a chance and they ended up talking about business, importation and Vietnam.
Then came the moment she says changed everything.
Kadiri disclosed that she was about leaving when she felt a clear message in her spirit that the man she had just met was her future husband.
Even with that strong feeling, she admitted that her actions did not exactly match the revelation at first.
“As I was about to walk away, the Spirit of God told me he’s my husband. Two days later, I blocked him, but he went the extra mile to find me. Four months later, he proposed to me and I accepted,” Kadiri added.
She further revealed that she was in another relationship at the time and had to navigate that season before eventually going on a date with the man she would later marry.
The actress also spoke about how highly she valued herself at the time, revealing that she turned down several marriage offers before meeting her husband because she believed the man who would eventually marry her had to be the right one.
“I said no to 3 men who wanted to marry me,” she added.
