LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie marked her birthday with a deeply personal announcement, revealing that she has welcomed a son and is now embracing life as a first-time mother.
In a post shared on Instagram on Wednesday, the actress revealed that this year’s celebration came with a major life update, the arrival of her baby boy.
Rather than share her traditional birthday photoshoot, styled looks and carefully planned concept, Ini said she decided to post a photo taken on the day her son was born.
She said that this year’s birthday felt different because she is celebrating it as a mother for the first time.
“Every year, my birthday comes with a photoshoot, glam, and a carefully planned concept. This year, none of that felt quite right. Instead, I’m sharing a photo from the day my son was born. The day my life changed forever,” she wrote.
The actress said motherhood has already become the most humbling and demanding role she has ever taken on, stating that the past few weeks had a mix of beauty, exhaustion, and joy.

“Because as special as every birthday has been, this one feels different. This year, I celebrate as a mother. There is no role I have ever played that has humbled me, stretched me, challenged me, or filled my heart quite like this one. These past weeks have been some of the most beautiful, overwhelming, exhausting, and rewarding of my life,” Ini stated.
Opening up about the newborn phase, Ini said getting to know her son has been the greatest gift.
She described him as “the cutest boy with the sweetest dimples” and said caring for him has revealed strengths she never knew she had.
“Getting to know this tiny human, the cutest boy with the sweetest dimples, has been the greatest gift. Watching him grow… has shown me strengths I didn’t know I had. It has also given me an even deeper appreciation for mothers everywhere. The newborn phase is no joke, and I definitely didn’t fully understand what was waiting for me. But even on the hardest days, I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything,” she added.
The actress also reflected on the emotional weight of motherhood, saying, “I feel incredibly grateful that God chose me for this responsibility and entrusted me with such a precious life.”
Ini ended the post by thanking fans, friends and loved ones for standing by her through this new season, noting that their prayers, support and kindness have meant a lot to her.
“Thank you for all the love, prayers, support, and kindness you’ve shown me during this new chapter. It has meant more than you know. Today, I celebrate another year of life, but even more than that, I celebrate the privilege of being his mum. Happy birthday to me,” the actress celebrated.
