LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has celebrated a major milestone after being recognized as a Guinness World Records Icon, adding another prestigious achievement to a journey that has inspired millions across Nigeria and beyond.
The celebrated chef revealed that she has been named a Guinness World Records Icon, an honour she described as both humbling and emotional.
In a video shared with fans, Hilda proudly displayed the certificate presented to her and reflected on how far she has come.
She also showcased three certificates from the global records body, highlighting her growing list of achievements.
Speaking about the recognition, Hilda admitted that there was a time when she struggled to believe her dreams could become reality because self-doubt often prevented her from pushing herself further.

Expressing gratitude for the latest honour, she said, “I feel very proud and honoured to bring this home. There was a time I thought my dream would never come true. Every time I doubted that this could be me, I would hold myself back.”
The chef added that even now, hearing people celebrate her accomplishments sometimes feels unreal.
“When I hear people talk about my achievements, I sometimes don’t listen because my mind can hardly believe it could be me. This recognition means so much, and I share it with everyone who has supported me along the way,” she said.
The latest recognition comes after Hilda made history as the first African to simultaneously hold three Guinness World Records titles.
Her accomplishments include the famous 93-hour cooking marathon in 2023, which drew international attention and sparked a wave of record attempts across Nigeria.
In 2025, she expanded her record-breaking legacy by setting new marks for the largest serving of jollof rice and the largest serving of rice overall.
The achievement involved preparing 8,780 kilograms of jollof rice using 4,000 kilograms of rice, with the food distributed without waste.
Beyond the records, Hilda has often spoken about the importance of purpose and perseverance, encouraging others to identify their motivation during difficult moments.
Her journey from helping out in her mother’s restaurant to becoming a globally recognized culinary figure has made her one of Nigeria’s most celebrated success stories.
The Guinness World Records Icon honour further cements Hilda Baci’s place among the organization’s most distinguished achievers.
