ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, and the party’s National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, on Thursday took aim at the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in Ekiti State, accusing it of poor performance over the last three and a half years.
The ADC leaders spoke in Ado Ekiti during the party’s mega rally held in support of its governorship candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
Addressing party supporters, Mark described the ADC as the most credible alternative for residents seeking improved living conditions and a new direction for the state.
“Vote for our candidate, Bejide, so that the Ekiti of your dream can be built. Give your votes to ADC,” Mark told the crowd.

The former Senate President urged residents to rally behind the party, insisting that the ADC and its candidate remained best positioned to rescue the state from economic hardship.
“This party with its candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, remains the only group capable of salvaging Ekiti from the claws of poverty,” he said.
In his address, Aregbesola said Governor Biodun Oyebanji and the APC would struggle to secure re-election because of what he described as the administration’s poor record in office.
The former Osun State governor dismissed suggestions that the ADC lacked the capacity to challenge the ruling party, insisting that the true measure of political strength would be determined by voters at the ballot box.
“We will meet at the poll. The APC has failed at the three tiers of government. APC may want to underestimate the opposition because of appearances, but such assumptions will prove costly,” Aregbesola said.
He expressed confidence that the ADC would emerge victorious if the election was conducted in a free and fair manner, alleging that the ruling party could only retain power through manipulation of the electoral process.
“I’m very happy that you are doing it here. If it’s more than this, it will become a problem. They say a needle is very small, but no hen can try to swallow it,” he added.
Aregbesola also commended women for their contributions to the electoral process and urged them to turn out in large numbers on Saturday to vote for the ADC and ensure that their votes count.
