ABUJA, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)-The National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN) has honoured the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, with the National Outstanding Leadership Award in recognition of her contributions to student development, youth empowerment and educational advancement.
The association also conferred on her the title of National Matron of Female Students in Nigeria during a courtesy visit to the university.
The award, titled “Top Most Outstanding Female Vice-Chancellor”, was presented to the LASU Vice-Chancellor on June 15, 2026, at her office on the sixth floor of the Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.
The NFSAN delegation was led by its National Vice-President, Comrade Hawawu AJIBOYE, who praised Professor Olatunji-Bello for her achievements in higher education administration and her commitment to the welfare and empowerment of female students.

According to Ajiboye, the Vice-Chancellor’s dedication to academic excellence, student support and inclusive leadership has distinguished her as a role model for young women across Nigeria.
The association said the award was in recognition of her advocacy, selfless service and exemplary leadership, which have positively impacted students and youths across the country.
NFSAN noted that Professor Olatunji-Bello’s contributions to the education sector and her efforts toward creating opportunities for female students informed its decision to honour her with both the leadership award and the position of National Matron of Female Students in Nigeria.
