LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Hours before the burial of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo, his younger sister, Tressure Amarachukwu Ekubo, moved many to tears after sharing childhood memories, personal videos, and a heartfelt message about life without her beloved brother.

Alexx Ekubo died on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40 after battling metastatic kidney cancer.

His death sent shockwaves through the Nigerian entertainment industry, leaving colleagues, friends, and fans devastated.

The actor’s Service of Songs was held on June 10, followed by a wake-keep on June 17 and he was laid to rest on June 18 in his hometown of Arochukwu, Abia State, in the presence of family members, close friends, and several notable figures from the entertainment industry.

Among those who attended the burial were Ini Edo, Venita Akpofure, Omoni Oboli, Stan Nze, Jerry Eze, Eno Eze, Alexx’s longtime friends IK Ogbonna and Yomi Casual, as well as KCee and Emeka Okonkwo.

Ahead of the burial, Tressure took to TikTok to share a collection of treasured moments with her late brother.

The post featured photographs spanning different stages of their lives, including a touching image of Alexx carrying her as a baby and several snapshots documenting their close sibling bond over the years.

She also posted a video montage containing check-in clips Alexx had sent her during his daily routine, making the tribute even more emotional for followers.

Accompanying the post was a heartfelt message in which Tressure described the pain of losing someone she spoke to regularly.

She admitted that adjusting to life without her brother has been extremely difficult.

Reflecting on her grief, she wrote: “Hi Bobo… It’s Crazy To Think That Within The Space Of 9 Months You Sent These Check-In Videos To Me, And Now You’re No Longer Here. Yesterday Was Hard, Bobo. I Was In So Much Disbelief And I Kept Searching For You Within The Crowd.”

She continued by expressing her belief that her brother’s presence would always remain with her despite his physical absence.

“I Know You’re Here. I Know You’ll Always Be Here With Me. You’d Never Abandon Me. After All, It’s Mama And Bobo For Life. I Love You So Much, Bobo. I’d Give Anything To Bring You Back,” she added.

The grieving sister also spoke about finding comfort in her faith while struggling with the reality of the loss.

“Who Am I To Question God? He Takes Back The Ones He Loves, And He Has Taken You. I’m So Glad You’re In Paradise. Continue To Intercede For Me, Bobo. My Own Guardian Angel,” Treasure stated.

She ended the tribute with an emotional farewell, writing: “I Love You Till The Day I Take My Very Last Breath. See You Soon, IKUKU.”

The touching message has drawn an outpouring of sympathy from fans and colleagues, many of whom described it as a powerful reminder of the deep bond Alexx Ekubo shared with his family.

His memory continues to live on through the stories, love, and tributes left behind by those closest to him.
