LAGOS, Nigeria(VOICE OF NAIJA)- Grace Makun, wife of celebrity fashion designer Yomi Casual, has shared an emotional tribute to late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo, revealing that creating the suit worn for his burial was the most difficult task her husband has ever faced.
Alexx was laid to rest on Thursday in Arochukwu, Abia State, following a wake-keep and funeral service attended by family, friends, and colleagues.
Emotional moments from the burial have since circulated on social media, highlighting the deep sense of loss felt by those closest to the actor.
In a heartfelt message shared on her Instagram Story, Grace reflected on the special bond between Alexx and Yomi Casual, describing the pain of designing the final outfit the late actor would ever wear.
According to her, Yomi always had a routine whenever he completed an outfit for Alexx.
He would text his friend whom he called “Ore” to inform him that the clothing was ready, only to be met with playful banter and jokes before arranging a fitting session.
Grace noted that the familiar tradition has now come to an end, leaving behind a painful silence.

She explained that instead of hearing Alexx’s usual teasing remarks, her husband was forced to confront the reality that his longtime friend was gone.
The fashion entrepreneur described the experience of making the burial suit as the hardest assignment Yomi Casual has ever undertaken.
She also revealed that the last month had been one of the most challenging periods of her husband’s life, adding that watching him complete the outfit while grieving deeply moved her.
Furthermore, Grace expressed pride in the way Yomi honoured his late friend, saying Alexx would have been proud to see the care and dedication that went into ensuring he looked elegant on his final journey.
Reflecting on the moment, she admitted that seeing the pain in her husband’s eyes after finishing the suit was heartbreaking.
She also shared her own grief, noting that she would dearly miss the actor.
